A Day at the Seaside.

What beautiful weather we're having,I just love sunny days, it makes you feel so much better.I really wanted to go to the seaside this weekend,so we headed to Torquay on Sunday morning, bright and early. It was great to sit outside drinking coffee overlooking the harbour.

After a stroll around the town and another drink sat outside,I had a glass of cider this time as it was after 12p.m.which I've been told is socially acceptable by my eldest daughter,we headed to Teignmouth. We had a game of crazy golf which was so funny because Mick plays golf and he thought he was going to be really good but he was rubbish.
Myself and a few friends went to Sunrise Crafts on Friday evening to do some scrapping,I managed to get one LO done.I used a Pencilline sketch for inspiration and used my new Thrift Shop papers and lots of Prima flowers.

Another sketch I've used this week is April's Prima Build A Page,I really loved using this sketch.I used all Prima on this page.

The last LO I've done this week was a challenge from The Colour Room.Once a week they give you a sketch and a colour palette to work from. Here's this weeks.

I love the gorgeous summery colours they've used,I don't use purple very often and struggled to find some in my stash.I found some Crate paper that I'd had for ages so used that.I also don't use multiple photo's very often so I really enjoyed doing the sketch.
I'd like to thank my pal,Jackie who has given me a Kreative Blogger Award.

I have to list seven creative things I have done:
1. My nan taught me to knit when I was about 7 years old.
2. I learnt to cross stitch.
3. I started cardmaking 10 years ago when I went to Hobbycraft show to get more cross sitch kits I saw a demo on heat embossing and as they say the rest is history.
4. I then fell in love with scrapbooking.
5. I love to take photos and always have a camera with me.
6. Recently tried to crochet but not very sucessful.
7. I've just started to use Pro-markers. I find colouring in so relaxing,I think I'm regressing back to my childhood.

I'm now passing it on to Lisa and Claire.

I've got two SU workshops to do in May so I need to get some serious crafting done for samples using the new products from the mini catalogue. My friend Dee has asked a few of us round her house tonight for a crafty night in so hopefully I can get some done there.
Back soon!

The Shabby Tea Room Week #6

This weeks challenge at The Shabby Tea Room is "Sketch This", using the photo as inspiration to create a card or project using the sketch as the layout. This week I decided to do a LO rather than a card as I don't seem to be doing as much scrapping lately and have so many photos I want to scrap.

I couldn't wait to use the new October Afternoon 'Fly a Kite papers and this was the perfect opportunity using this photo of my gorgeous little Nephew on his 3rd Birthday.
Thanks for another great challenge to all at  The Shabby Tearoom!!!

Spring Clean!

I've been sat in my craft room the last few weeks thinking I really need to have a good sort out. I'd got so much stash especially papers that I bought years ago even though I didn't like them I kept thinking I might use them one day . Well as you all know I won't use them I just don't like getting rid of things just in case! So the spring clean began yesterday and I finished this afternoon getting rid of loads,I can't believe I even bought some of the things I got rid of.I was quite ruthless once I started and feel much better for it.I know where everything is now and found things I'd forgotten I'd got. I haven't used my Cricut for at least 12 months and unsure whether to get rid of that as well some people are saying not to because I'd regret it.I'd appreciate any comments on what you think before I make my mind up.

Nice and Tidy!
Even though I've just gutted my stash I have bought some new ranges that arrived today. I just couldn't resist the new October Afternoon Fly a Kite and Thrift Shop.I also got American Crafts Dear Lizzie Spring but I have learnt a lesson to actually use my new stash instead of just looking at it as your tastes do change over time.
Monday night I went to Sunrise Crafts for cardmaking,I hadn't been for a couple of weeks so it was nice to see everyone. We made a beautiful vintage card just the sort of card I like to make.

I started a LO at Bromsgrove on Thursday evening which I've managed to finish this afternoon. I used the papers from my Febuary GoGo kit and added some flowers and Prima swirls the LO was inspired by a sketch in the new Pencil Lines book.
Back soon, hopefully with what I've done with my new stash!

Time Flies!!!

My baby girl is 20 years old today!!! Where does the time go? It doesn't seem that long ago when she was holding my hand on her way to her first day of school and now she's in her second year of Uni!
It was Bromsgrove's crop last night.I wasn't very organised in getting anything ready  as I'd been out all day so I  literally grabbed my Febuary GoGo kit and ran.I managed to finish one LO which was of my Mom & Dad's Wedding Day. I've got tons of old family photos (some dating back to 1850's) and I must start scrapping more of them as I just love the vintage/retro look.

I made the flower using the new Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die and a Prima pebble in the centre. This die is going to be one of my favourites, you can get so many different shape and size flowers.I will enjoy having a play in the next few weeks and see what flowers I end up with.

Enjoy the weekend!

It's Hip To Be Square

'It's Hip To Be Square' that's the name of the challenge this week from The Shabby Tea Room. The challenge is to take inspiration from the vintage quilt photo and create a card or project using squares.

I love doing challenges and this is first time I've took part in The Shabby Tea Room challenge.I used seven squares all together and they were all scraps from my scrap box,I then used the The Flight of the Butterfly stamp set from SU.

I'm Back!

I haven't posted for a while as I've been in Barcelona for a week.I was going to post while I was over there but everytime I went for my laptop my DH had got it to watch either the football or the U.S Masters. What a fab place to visit though, you've got great shopping, gorgeous buildings, great food and the beach. What more could you ask for!
Sagrada Familia

Park Guell

Port Vell

The Living Statues
It was the Bromsgrove Crop on the Saturday before I went to Barcelona.I gave you a sneak peek of the card I was doing for the card class so here's the finished card.

I used the Very Vintage Stampin'Around roller stamp in Close to Cocoa ink to create the border. The pattern paper was from the new paper stack and then used the Vintage Vogue stamp set to create the corners and the flower. The leaves were punched out with the Extra-Large Two-Step Bird Punch. All the products are from the new Stampin'Up mini catalogue.
I just made Easter cards at the crop as I hadn't finished them and I didn't really have time to get anything ready.I used my new Magnolia stamp that I got from the N.E.C. and coloured them in using Pro-Markers which was another purchase from the N.E.C.It was the first time I'd used them and was really pleased with the outcome. They are very easy to use with no streaky lines.I love colouring in,it took me right back to my childhood.

I've been using up my GoGo kits over the last couple of weeks so I'm now ready for my April kit which is right up my street with all the Vintage embellishments and papers. Here's some of the LO's I've done.

Can't wait to get back to my crafting now I'm home.Back soon!!!
