Random Acts of Kindness.

Hello all my lovely Blogger friends, I hope you all had a great weekend. As you can see my title is "Random Acts of Kindness", and I have received two acts of kindness in the last few days.

The first one I want to tell you about, really touched my heart, as I have never met this lady, so was a true RAK. I love posting photo's on Instagram and have made a lot of "virtual friends", who like myself, enjoy all things crafty, vintage and shabby chic. There's one lady named Jo, and we regularly comment on each others photo's, she lives about 40 minute drive from me so recognises a lot of the places on my photo's.

Anyway, a few weeks ago, she was on holiday in Florida and I was loving all her pictures, she put on a photo of a Harry Potter Knit magazine and was debating whether to buy it. I said she should as it's not available in the U.K., so she went back and bought it, hehe, I'm such an enabler!!!!

On Friday, I received a lovely email from Jo, asking for my address and that she wanted to send me something. I thought I was going to get a postcard or a letter.

No, it wasn't a letter, it was the Harry Potter Knits magazine with a gorgeous handmade embroidered card!!!! She wrote me a beautiful message and said that she couldn't buy one without getting me one, as she loves seeing all my knitting and crochet projects. I was so touched to say the least of her generous act of kindness and sweet words.

Paige and one of my best friends, Kerry, are Harry Potter mad and the three of us are going to the Harry Potter Studio Tour on Saturday. I'll take it with me so they can have a look through it on the train, down there. I'm sure they'll want me to knit them something from it.

Now to the second act of kindness, I have four close friends who I regularly see, we go for meals and drinks, go shopping and even have the odd weekend away. Well, on Friday, we all had a text message from Di, asking if we were all free on Saturday afternoon as she wanted to treat us all to a meal.

We went to Bridgnorth, which is a beautiful market town in Shropshire, we had a delicious meal and shared a bottle of fizz. We obviously didn't want her to pay for us all but she insisted, told us why she wanted to do this and that we were all special friends to her, which again touched my heart.

I'm feeling very blessed, there is so much unkindness in this world but these acts of kindness, shows that there is a lot of good, too. I will of course, be paying it forward.

I'm going to link this to Our Beautiful World, as this week the prompt is "Bubbles" and I love a glass of bubbly. This is one of my favourite photo, with the five of us clinking glasses, it represents the celebration of our friendship.

How about doing your own little RAK, like the above quote says, no act of kindness is too small, it can be as simple as opening a door for someone with a smile, I like the idea of making some bookmarks and putting them in library books. I think that would put a smile on somebody's face, I know I would like to find one.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you didn't find this post too soppy but I was just overwhelmed by other people's kindness. Have a great week.

Aw both stories are very moving :) I miss all my very close friends, I don't live that near them anymore but we do have good times when we meet up :)

And fancy being sent the HP magazine, amazing! A lovely lady called Donna from Canada once sent me a whole set of colourful knitting needles as I was struggling to get any in the UK, didn't want a penny for them :o

Lovely post ... I'm so happy for you ... and your photo is perfect - I was thinking of champagne bubbles myself but thought it rather extravagant to open a bottle just for the prompt Lol!!
Thanks so much for sharing with us at Our Beautiful World!

it is sometimes a bit scary to think of some of what goes on in this world but reading posts like this one really helps to restore one's faith. thank you for sharing.
