CR84FN & a Sassy Lil' Sketch........

This week's colours over at CR84FN are Red,Aqua and White such a gorgeous, fresh colour combo and look at the beautiful inspiration board and such a wonderful quote.

I wanted to start scrapping Jodie's 21st Birthday photo's and when I saw this sketch at Sassy Lil' Sketches Blog I thought it would be ideal for the photo's I'd taken of her bouquet of flowers that her boyfriend Dan had delivered to the house.

The papers are Daisy Bucket and Prima,I punched the edges using Martha Srewart punches. I coloured the white ribbon roses with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Broken China and the ruffled ribbon is also Tim Holtz.

On Easter Monday we decided to go to Birmingham for the day with friends,it was a beautiful day and we did a bit of shopping, had a walk around the city, sat outside a  canal-side bar for a couple of drinks then had some tapas in one of the restaurants at The Mailbox,a perfect Bank holiday.
Here's a few photo's of our day:

Paige & I in the fitting rooms of Jack Wills, they were huge and had a fab seating area!!!

I hope you all had a great Easter,we've got another long weekend here in the U.K. with the Royal Wedding on Friday and May Day on Monday,I could get use to all these holidays.
You still have time to enter this month's challenge over at Scrapbookers Anonymous , just find out your eyelets and use at least 23 on your LO or card, you could win some of the new Crate Paper Toy Box range and other goodies, you have until 30th April.

City Crafter Challenge Blog week #53-Gate Card......

Happy Easter everybody who celebrates this holiday,I'm back in my craft room at last,it's been two weeks now but with the kids off school, the preperations for Jodie's birthday and lots of other celebrations I've been to,I just haven't had a minute for any crafting. Even though I've missed the crafting and blogging I've had one of the best two weeks ever, but I had a spare couple of hours this morning before we go to my Mom and Dad's house for Easter tea,so jumped at the chance to do this week's challenge over at City Crafter Challenge Blog. This week's hostess is Linda and the challenge is a Gate Card,it's been a long time since I've made a gate-fold card.
Here's my card:

It's quite a simple card today, all supplies are from Stampin'Up including the papers which are the new Sweet Stitches Designer Papers, they are one of my favourite new paper ranges of the moment. I used the border punch on some co-ordinating card and attached it to the two opening ends to give a scalloped edge.
It's a short and sweet post today as I've got to get ready now to go out but will be back to normal after Monday. Have a great Easter weekend !!!!

I'm Back.....

Hi Folks, sorry I haven't been around for a while but I've had no time to do any crafting what so ever for over a week now and still haven't but thought I'd pop in to say hello. It was my daughter's 21st Birthday on Saturday and we'd planned a lot for her over the weekend starting with a big party for her on the Friday night with all her family and friends,so I've been preparing for that. We had a BBQ and Karoke party for her, there was about 60 people there and her lovely "Mom & Dad in Law" had it around their house,I thought I'd share some photo's with you, warning there's lots of them!!!

Waiting for all the Guests

Happy Birthday To You

My Two Girls

We all had a fantastic night, then the next morning the day of her birthday we had a champagne breakfast.

On the evening we'd arranged a surprise for her,I booked a private box for us at the Greyhound Racing and also sponsored a race where she presented the trophy to the winning dog. She thought her boyfriend was taking her for a meal so was really shocked when she opened the door and saw us and Dan's family.

Surprise!!!!

The Winning Dog

They give Jodie the trophy.

Then to top her night off Dan gave her another present, a weeks holiday in Fuerteventura leaving in 2 weeks time, I can't believe we all kept it a secret for the last 4 months, needless to say she was overjoyed.

To finish off the weekend,Sunday afternoon we went around Dan's house and had a BBQ,it was a beautiful warm, sunny day so that finished her Birthday Weekend off perfectly.
Sorry there are so many photo's but I really wanted to share one of the best weekends ever. I will get back in my craftroom in the next few days. I haven't had time to look at any blogs either so I will be paying you all a visit very soon.

Little Bitty Mini Cards.......

This week over at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge it isn't a traditional sketch like we're use to seeing but three mini cards to use as a notecard or to accompany a gift, what a fab idea !!!!!

Here's my three little mini cards:

I took the 4x4 mini cream base card and dry embossed it using the Stampin'Up Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder then inked the edge with Crumb Cake. I took some Very Vanilla cardstock and with the SU Decorative Label Punch, punched out the sentiment label. Now for the fun bit, using SU Baby Blossoms stamp set I stamped a collage of all the different leaves and flowers in Rose Red,Baja Breeze,Certainly Celery,Pink Pirouette,Real Red and So Saffron leaving space in the centre for the 'For You' sentiment.
Using scraps of Springtime Vintage papers,I punched out a variety of flowers using SU Boho Blossoms,I layered them together using a rhinestone brad through the centre and scrunched them to get a more dimensional flower. I made a double bow to go around the card adding the flower and  tag to the centre of the bow,for the tag I used the Tiny Tag stamp set, finally I added the label using 3D foam.

Have a great weekend.

More Stampin'Up and a Pencilline Sketch.......

I'm really enjoying using the new products from Stampin'Up but have only made cards so when I saw this week's sketch over at Pencillines I decided to do a LO using the Springtime Vintage papers.

I love sketch #232,anything with banners is a winner where I'm concerned.

The papers I used are Springtime Vintage and Subtle Pattern Designer paper stack, I fussy cut around some of the flowers and layered them up with 3D foam pads. The chipboard letters were covered and the edges inked with Rose Red, the ruffled ribbon is made by pulling a centre thread from the seam binding and pulling until I got the ruffled look I wanted, the banner stamp is from the stamp set Party This Way.

Back soon.

CR84FN22 and CPS-Card Sketches......

Well it's a beautiful spring day here in the U.K. with the sun shining and the birds singing and I've got some spare time this afternoon to make a card as my daughter's back from Uni for Easter and she's helped me to do my jobs around the house.
This week over at CR84FN is a gorgeous colour combo of kraft, green and brown, when I saw the colours I thought they would be perfect for a male card which I tend to shy away from normally. Last month I had the pleasure of been Guest Designer for this fabulous colour challenge blog, this month is the turn of Silke Ledlow so why not check out her beautiful creations and also get inspiraion from the rest of the Design Team at CR84FN.

Also while I was blog hopping I saw this sketch over at CPS-Card Sketches and decided to combine the two challenges together.

Here's my card inspired by the colours and sketch:

All supplies on this card are from Stampin' Up including the new paper range Botanical Gazette, the colours I've used are Chocolate Chip,Crumb Cake (kraft) and Garden Green.I distressed all the edges with the distressing tool and inked the edges with Crumb Cake ink. I then stamped the banners once onto Crumb Cake cardstock and then stamped again onto the green butterfly paper, cut out the centre triangle and layered it onto the kraft banner.

Supplies

Papers- Botanical Gazette (double-sided)
Stamps-Party this Way (banner & sentiment)
Punches-Two Step Bird,Word Window
Embellishments-Regal Collection Buttons,Linen Thread

I'd just like to let everyone know that Scrapbookers Anonymous have got a DT call up at the moment, they are looking to add to the existing DT for a minimum of 6 months so if anybody is interested in giving it a go head on over and take a look here.
Thanks for taking the time to look and all the wonderful encouraging comments you leave me, I really do appreciate it.

New Stampin' Up Mini Catalogue is here.......

Hello Friends,I hope you all had a good weekend, on Saturday I went to Bromsgrove Crop but forgot to take any photo's with me,lol,so I didn't really get a lot done. Sunday was Mothers Day here in the U.K.,my girls bought me Zumba for the Xbox, which I'm really into at the moment. We went to an Italian restaurant for lunch and  had some great family time which doesn't happen very often now.
I am so excited with the launch of the new Stampin'Up mini catalogue, I think it's the best yet with lots of gorgeous new products.

The big news is that you can now buy the Big Shot,Sizzix dies and embossing folders, some exclusive to Stampin' Up.

There are some beautiful vintage, botanical and fun sewing theme stamps and papers, also seam binding, glass glitter and lots of gorgeous embellishments. I haven't had a lot of time to do any crafting lately but have done a few cards using all the new products.

This card is just clean and simple  using the Itty Bitty Bits, I love anything miniature so these small stamps and cute little buttons are just perfect.

Supplies
Stamps-Itty Bitty Bits
Punches- Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack,Scallop Trim Corner,Scallop Trim Border,Butterfly Extra-Large
Embellishments- Bitty Buttons,Basic Rhinestones

This card is using the double-sided Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper and the Baja Breeze Seam Binding, which are just gorgeous, if you look at the above card the sentiment label which is punched out with the new Decorative Label Punch, is stamped with Baby Blossoms stamp set which are lots of small stamps that you build up to get the effect you want. The chipboard heart is covered with Baja Breeze Glass Glitter.

This card is using Springtime Vintage papers again,I used the new Sizzix Scallop Circle die with Crumb Cake card, cut in half then used the Crop-a-Dile to make the holes. The stamped label is from the stamp set Four Frames punched out using the co-ordinating Decorative Label Punch.

This card is using the Sew Lovely stamps and Sweet Stitches papers and I just love the Big Designer Buttons that co-ordinate with the papers. I hope you like the new products as much as I do,if you want to buy the new Mini Catalogue or place an order, please email me,you'll find my email address on the sidebar.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

March Pixie Challenge......

A quick post as I want to get in before the deadline finishes over at Pixie Dust Paperie. When I went to the GoGo Getaway last weekend I took some sketches to work with and this was one of them.

I love banners at the moment so this was the first sketch I did when we got there on Friday evening.

This photo is of my daughter Paige and my niece Charlotte (my sisters daugter),there is only 3 months between them and look so alike in this photo. I choose these papers because they matched their dresses perfectly not sure what paper range they are, they were in an old kit I'd got.

Enjoy the weekend.

Well another month over and we're now into April which means a new challenge over at Scrapbookers Anonymous. If you haven't heard of Scrapbookers Anonymous it is a challenge blog that encourages you to use up your old stash to make way for all the lovely new stash that we keep buying. It's been 6 months since the very  first challenge and it has grown so much in the last few months with over 100 followers now. Theresa and Lea have been working behind the scenes to make it even better including a new DT call coming soon,so keep checking back for more details.
This month's challenge is to use  least 23 eyelets on your LO or card, when I first saw this I thought 'Oh No' I haven't used eyelets for years.I still had some in my stash and used up 31 of them ,that's why I love these challenges so much, you use things you perhaps wouldn't  use otherwise. I hope you decide to give this a go and use up those forgotton eyelets and don't forget you've got the chance to win a fabulous prize.

I hope to be back soon to show you my LO's I did last weekend at the GoGo Getaway , it's been such a hectic week that I haven't even unpacked them yet let alone photograph them.

Hope you all have a great weekend !!!!
