Waltzingmouse Challenge #24

As I said the other day I seem to have lost my mojo so I decided to use this week's sketch over at Waltzingmouse Stamps Challenge Blog to help with making a 50th Birthday card.

Here's my card:

The label is stamped using Waltzingmouse Stamps Holiday Labels 14 and cut out with the matching Nestie shape and the papers are Prima.
I'm off to the N.E.C. in Birmingham tomorrow for the Good Food Show,it's a great day out with plenty of food and drink to sample and then I'm off to my friends birthday party so I've got a busy but enjoyable day ahead.

I'd like to wish all my American friends a Happy Thanksgiving,I hope you all have a wonderful time !!!

Back From Spain !

I am back from Benidorm and I had a fabulous time but  I seem to have lost my mojo since I got back and haven't done a lot of crafting. It was Bromsgrove Crop on Thursday evening and I intended to get some Christmas cards done, I didn't even get one card finished, that's how bad it is !!!
We went to Benidorm to celebrate my friends 50th Birthday but her actual birthday is this Thursday so I wanted to get a mini book done with the Benidorm photo's for her birthday. I have actually managed to get it done today,it is very simple with not many embellishments as I wanted her to focus on the photo's and journaling.
Here are a few of the pages.

The chipboard album is My Minds Eye Lush and all the papers are October Afternoon Cherry Hill, the holiday meant so much to my friend and will treasure this album with her favourite photo's from the trip.
Don't forget you still have time to enter this month's challenge over at Scrapbookers Anonymous, you have to use holiday papers (Xmas,Halloween etc) on a non holiday card or LO. There's a great prize up for grabs so why not give it a go,it's a fab way to use up those papers you only use once a year.

November Crop.

Last Saturday was Bromsgrove crop,it was a quiet one this month but we still had a great time with plenty of laughs, they really are a great bunch of girls. I managed to get two LO's done,I think I do more talking than scrapping !!! The first one I did I've already posted which was for the Kraft It Up challenge, here's the second one.

I used my October Scrapagogo kit for this LO,I love this photo of my Mum and Dad,they are still so close after 44 years of marriage.
I also did a card class and as Christmas is getting closer I did a Christmas card.

The patterned paper and stamp is from Stampin'Up,the sheet music is from an old violin grade book. I made the flower with organza and shriveled the edges using a candle,I saw these flowers on Clare's blog, you can find the tutorial here.

Melt Art Workshop.

Rach and I drove down to Milton Keynes last Friday to LB Crafts to do a Melt Art workshop with Lin Brown, this is one craft I have never tried before. We got there for 9.30 which gave us a chance to look around the shop and spend a bit more money before the class started, keeping in mind the shop was at the ArtsyCraft workshop the weekend before. I just can't help myself !!!
We started off with a 7Gypsies Printers Tray

and this was the end result.

I am so pleased with the end result, every one of the embellishments were made from scratch,we got to use a Melt Pot using bees wax and UTTE . It was a great workshop and would love to do another class,Lin is a very talented Altered Art artist, check out her blog here.

Have a great weekend !!!

Week #35- Lavender & Lace

This weeks host at The Shabby Tea Room is the very talented Clare Buswell who has choosen this gorgeous inspiration photo to work with.

Clare asks we do a project using the colors from the picture, the floral and/or lace theme ... OR BOTH! This is the card I did for this week's challenge.

The papers are Cosmo Cricket 'Mitten Weather' and Anna Griffin, the music paper is from an old violin grade book. The doily is one Kirsty sent me from the Lace & Doily Swap,I made the flower with scrunched up circles and circles of lace.

I'm off to Spain in the morning for a bit of sunshine but I will be leaving scheduled posts while I'm away, that's if they work,I've never tried it before,LOL.

Decoratve Edges

I love using kraft card and a lot of my LO's has kraft as the base, while I was blog-hopping  I found a monthly challenge blog called Kraft It Up ! where you have to use kraft and then another element. This month it is 'Decorative Edges'.

This photo of Paige as a toddler always makes me smile, her juice was on the wall but she picked up her Daddy's beer, hence the title 'Put The Beer Down'.
For my edges I used a Sass Lass border, two different punches and some pleated ribbon,I then added the top of a Maya Road kraft envelope to the photo to add a diiferent edge.
Thanks for stopping by !!!

My First Assignment !!!

I said in a previous post that I'd won an online class at My Creative Classroom,I choose to do Get Creative with Punches. The class had already started so I needed to do some catching up but with one thing and another I just couldn't get started.I finally found time this morning to do the first assignment  which was to make two cards using a variety of different punches and stitching with a vintage feel.

This card I used four different punches, the snowflakes and border punches are Martha Stewart and the oval and scalloped oval are both Stampin'Up. I only used scraps of paper from my scrap box and the sheet music was from a book I bought from an antique shop, the book only cost £1 it must have 50 sheets in it,very economical !!! I added some lace and buttons for that vintage look and the 'Let It Snow' sentiment was from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

The second card we were suppose to use the leftover bits from the first card but because I'd used scraps anyway I just used some leftovers from my scrap box. The fancy butterfly punch is an X-Cut and the other butterfly and small tag are both Stampin'Up.
Now I've got going and finished the first assignment,I'm looking forward to starting the second one, hopefully I will catch up soon. They are very accomadating though and I have been offered an extension, which I'll probably need !!!
The Create Free mini book I started is still work in progress but I've only got three pages left and will show you the whole book when it's completely finished.
Tomorrow,Rach and I are off to LB Crafts for a Melt Art workshop which uses UTTE and beeswax, this will be a new technique for me so looking forward to that !!!

Thanks again for all your kind comments,I really appreciate it.

ArtsyCrafts Weekend-Through The Garden Gate.

I had the best crafty weekend,Rach and I travelled up to Warrington on Friday afternoon as we had an early start Saturday morning. I'm so glad we did as we had a bit of time to relax ready for the two busy days ahead of us,we didn't finish until 9.45pm on Saturday night.
We were down for breakfast at 7am ready to start the classes for 8am,while we were waiting to get in we saw Sue from our crop walking towards us,that was a nice surprise as we didn't know she was going. Each table was set up with different colour combo's and the first two projects we got to choose our own colours,we did a lot of painting, stamping and metal work.I choose Cloudy Blue to make The Book of Wisdom,I still need to add some finishing touches to the inside of the book.

The next project was a shadow box in Java Jade.

On Sunday we did the main project,I just love this piece of artwork and was definitely my favourite,I was on the Herb Garden table and was so pleased with how it turned out,it will have pride of place in my hall.

I had the most amazing time and learnt so many new techniques.Iwill definitely be going again next year.I met so many lovely people, there was even somebody who lives in the same small town as me,it is such a small world !!! I'd like to thank Lin,Leandra,Lyn and the two Mark's for all their hard work, the organisation was fantastic. There was also time for a bit of shopping so ended up buying some fab stamps and lots of other little things I needed!!! Lol !!!
It is Bromsgrove crop on Saturday so I'll be doing a card class, this month will be a Christmas card. Here's a sneak peek.

Thanks for looking !!!
