The challenge this week over at The Shabby Tea Room is to use metal on your project and to use the photo for inspiration.I was very excited when I saw this week's challenge as I'd bought a shadow box and metal sheets from LB Crafts weeks ago for the purpose of using lots of metal bits to alter it.
I covered the frame with BG Cappella and stamped it with Paper Artsy stamps, I painted over the PP with Green Patina paint using dry brush strokes and then inked the edges with Vintage Photo DI.The flower is also made from metal, here's a link to something similar but I used a 6 petal stamped flower rather than a punch and only two layers.I stamped the Paper Artsy grunge flower twice onto metal sheet using brown Staz-On,I then cut them out and embossed them using the Tim Holtz Collage embossing folder.I lightly painted them with the Green Patina and then went over the embossed area with Antique Linen DI using a Websters Sparkler for the centre.
I framed the title using a Tim Holtz metal frame, the angel wings are from Tim Holtz Alterations die using metal sheet and distressing like I did with the metal flower.Lastly on the frame I added some Maya Road crystal droplets.
The inside of the box I used BG Cappella PP again with a large Jenni Bowlin Bingo Card and added some vintage lace. The butterfly is a Tattered Angel frame which I sprayed with TA Glimmer Mist and added a paper rose which also had the Glimmer Mist treatment.I pinned a Tim Holtz Philosphy Tag to the paper rose which says Cherish, I chose that sentiment as I cherish and adore my two girls so much!!! Lastly I added a Prima swirl and a couple of pretty pins.
I really enjoyed making this shadow box and think I will be doing more altered art projects in the future.
As always thank you for looking and leaving me such lovely comments,I really appreciate all comments left and it's a great way for me to get the link to all the wonderful blogs out there!
