Knitvent 2017 Giveaway......The Nutcracker.

It's that time of year again when Helen Stewart of  Curious Handmade releases the very popular Knitvent. The buzz and excitement is already strong on the Ravelry group, all awaiting in anticipation for the first pattern to be released.

"The unmistakable strains of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker conjures up dreamy images and heartfelt emotion for children and adults alike: the sparkle of the Sugar Plum Fairy, the boundless energy of the gallant Nutcracker, Clara’s wistful journey and final triumph. Each of the six mystery patterns this season draw from the spirit of the Nutcracker’s enchanted dreamworld, dancing between the elegant beauty of a prima ballerina and the wide-eyed wonder of a child lost in the Land of Sweets."

How could we resist, I'm especially excited this year with the theme, The Nutcracker, which never loses it's magic however many times you watch this wonderful ballet. Knitters from all over the world will gather together to share their love of knitting with plenty encouragement, sharing their work and a helping hand if needed.

If you're not familiar with Knitvent, it is a collection of six patterns that is a mix between an advent calendar and a mystery knitalong. Each week you will receive a pattern in your Ravelry library, the patterns will be a fairly quick knit, ideal for gifting or a little something for yourself.

There is an Early Bird price of £7.85 until the 9th November when the first pattern is released, it will then go up to the regular price of £9.80, (note: Prices do not include any VAT applicable in your country).
Helen has very kindly given me a copy to giveaway to one lucky person, so if you want to leave a comment and tell me which is you favourite Helen Stewart pattern. If you could also leave me your IG name or Ravelry name so I can contact you if you're the winner.

Good luck and I will draw a winner on Wednesday so you will receive the first pattern on Thursday.

Happy Knitting
Deb x

How lovely to find your blog and thank you for the opportunity of winning this Knitvent collection. Picking a favourite Helen Stewart pattern is tricky as there are so many to choose from, but if pushed it would be either the Pebble Beach Shawl (which I have knit and wear all the time) or the Vila Wrap which I desperately want to cast on!

Hi Deb, I love the magical Nutcracker too! Thanks for giving us a chance to win Helen’s Knitvent collection 😊
My favourite pattern of Helen’s is the Summertide shawl. I knit it as a mystery knit when it was first released and annoyed it so much. I knit mine in madtosh TML in Farmhouse White and Neon Peach - so fun! It’s one of my go-to shawls and as a result is in desperate need of another blocking!! (puts that on the to do list...)

The nutcracker ballet is very special to me as every year I would take my boys to see Matthew Bournes ballet at the colleisuim, we would visit the tree in Trafalgar Square. I love it so much.

My favourite shawl is pebble beach, I made a beautiful one this year with silver sequins in the yarn, which was perfect for my nieces spring wedding. Thank you for runnng this giveaway x

Most of the shawls I knit are Helen's patterns, so picking one is a tough choice. Right now I'm wearing and enjoying my Summertide, so I guess I'll go with that. I have a moratorium on discretionary spending right now, since my sister lost her home in the California wildfires last month, so an opportunity to win Knitvent 2017 is exciting. Thanks for the chance!

I'm really intrigued by Knitvent! It is such a great idea and I did not have the chance to join so far. I had the pleasure to knit the Pebble Shawl in the past but my favorite would probably be the Summertime Shawl.
Thank you for the giveaway! My revelry name is asteride.

I've never participated in Knitvent before. It looks interesting!
My all time favorite Helen Stewart pattern is the Pebble Beach Shawl. I've knit it many times, with gradients, stripes solids, etc. It is SO versatile.

I loved the first and second edition of Knitvent, and I don't know why I did not participate in the subsequent editions. I do have quite a few favourites among Helen's patterns - but a firm favourite is the Squish Up Cowl that I knit in equally squishy alpaca yarn ;-). And I made three of these as presents - they all turned into favourites... .

my ravelry name is streepie, and I'm streepie1 on Instagram.

Thanks for the giveaway. It's so hard to choose just one pattern, but I think it would have to be the Pebble Beach shawl, such a relaxing knit. My ravelry name is sarahy75
