I had a lazy day this morning, I had a cup of coffee in bed whilst I did some of my tapestry, when I went downstairs to get my scissors, my Hubby laughed at me saying even my PJ's matched my scissors. I do love anything pretty, girly and floral and he has to sleep in a very feminine room !!!!!
When I eventually got my butt out of bed I made lunch, none of us are big fans of the traditional Sunday lunch of meat and two veg so this week I made a cheese, tomato and ham tart. It is such a simple dish and sooooo tasty, all you need is some ready to roll puff pastry, mature cheddar, parma ham and goats cheese.
Roll out the pastry and slice the tomatoes and cheddar.
Alternate the sliced cheese and tomato then tear ham and goats cheese, layer over the top.
Put into a pre-heated oven of 200 degree and cook for about 20 minutes until golden and all the cheese has melted.
Delicious served alfresco with salad and a glass of Rose wine, mmmmmm.
After lunch it was time to tidy up the garden before I visit the garden centre tomorrow, I'm not a natural gardener and I definitely don't have green fingers so it's very low maintenance. My Mom and sister have beautiful gardens and know what all the different plants are and how to look after them.
I had bought some bulbs to go in my pots but wasn't sure how deep to plant them or how many to put in one pot, told you I was hopeless, so I rang my Mom to ask her. Next thing I knew Mom and Dad had arrived with some plants from their garden, I don't know the names of most of them apart from Sweet Peas (my favourites), hostas and a clematis but it's filled some of the pots.
I showed Mom all the weeds I had to pull out and she just shook her head in despair, they were plants not weeds but in my defence I didn't plant them and didn't know the wind, rain and birds can spread the seeds, haha.
I'm never going to have green fingers but the garden is tidy and tomorrow I will get some more herbs, tomato plants, lavender and whatever my Mom suggests, I need all the help I can get but I do love my garden, it is very peaceful and a lovely little sun trap through the summer.
Thanks for looking, I'll be back soon.

I wish I had green fingers, I have no idea what to do with our little garden and we are just maintaining what the last people did at the moment. Yours is looking very pretty.
Lovely photos ... We're not Sunday lunch people either ... guess I did it for the best part of 20yrs and now like you I prefer a simple lunch. My garden is full to bursting at the moment ... everything has spread ... if you were nearer you could take your pick!
