Tuesdays Tallies........& Some Gorgeous New Yarn.

Hello, I hope everybody had a good weekend, I'm back today with this week's Tuesday's Tallies, I feel as though I've achieved a fair amount this week.
I've finished my part-made squares from last week and crocheted another 36, leaving me with 216 squares to double crochet onto my blanket.

I like to add the squares as I go along so I can see the progress, it is now 62" X 54" and I've only got one ball of each colour left, so hopefully I will get it finished very soon, so far I've made 598 squares and used 1360 grams of wool which equates to just over 27 (50g) balls.

I can only crochet them together in the one direction but when it's finished I then double crochet across the other way and also add the border. Mmmmm, I wonder if I could get it finished this month !!!

Also this week I've treated myself to some new yarn, I love Rooster Almerino DK, the colours are gorgeous and it's so soft with a mix of 50% alpaca and 50% merino.
There isn't many places you can buy it from but I've found a shop in Edinburgh called Avery Homestore that stocks it, she also sells beautiful fabric and homeware goods.

This is the Wool Eater Inspiration Pack, the colours are so lush.

Great customer service with next day delivery and she even sent these buttons as an extra to say thank you for my custom, such a lovely touch.

Have a great week and don't forget to check out Carole's blog, to see how everybody else has got on with their One a Day's.

Okay...now I know that I did not get anywhere near enough yarn for this blanket...gulp. I need to really look at the pattern again and see if I have to buy all new for this. I am learning more and more reading blogs like yours. I love the throw and it inspires me to work hard on my last two crochet afghans I already started so I can start on this throw. Yours is just beautiful!

The new yarn is so pretty in the tray. Are you planning on making a wool eater blanket? I tried and could not figure out the pattern past a certain round so it become a teapot coaster and I love it for that.

Hugs from Holland ~

You did an amazing job Deb! All the squares in themselves look fabulous with their fine colours, but when put together they form a really special blanket, imagine how absolutely wonderful it must be to cuddle up underneath it, grab a book and enjoy a cup of tea! Gorgeous work!! Ira ♥
