A Busy Week!!!

It's been such a busy week I haven't had chance to do any challenges,it's half term in the U.K. so the kids are off school for a week. On Monday Rach,Libby and the children came to my house,we had a good natter and catch up and took the kids to the park for an hour then I went straight to card class.Tuesday I was out shopping all day with Paige,Mom,my sister and 3 nieces. Yesterday I went to a few local craft shops and had lunch with my friend Kerry then out for a drink with Hubby. I thought today I might get to do at least one challenge but ended up out all day again  then I'm off out tonight with some friends,I'm not moaning though as I love to catch up with friends and family.
Tomorrow Rach and I are driving up to Warrrington for the ArtsyCrafts altered arts weekend, two full days of crafting. I'm so excited, neither of us have done anything like this before so we're really looking forward to finding out what we'll be doing. I know we'll have fun so look out next week for the photo's of our weekend of crafting.
One last thing I wanted to share with you, I submitted this layout to Creative Scrappers using sketch #125 and won a prize !!!!

I was so excited as I won a $25 gift voucher for an online class over at My Creative Classroom, they do some great classes and I choose to do Get Creative with Punches,I can't wait to get started.
Sorry I haven't had anything to show you crafty wise but I should have plenty next week !!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Halloween Candy Bags.

I hope you all had a good weekend, this is only a quick post.I had a spare half hour this afternoon so decided to make some Trick or Treat bags for my young nieces and nephew when they come knocking my door on Sunday.

They're very simply decorated but I just love this stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps, the labels have things like Vampire Blood,Bat Droppings, partially decomosed Fingers and I stamped on the brown lunch bag 'Regurgitated Candy', how gross!!!! The kids will love them though!!!!

A Vintage Feel !!!!

It is week #27 over at the City Crafter Challenge Blog and Kirsty is this week's host.Kirsty loves to travel and this time we're off to Rome,The Eternal City so the challenge is to create a project with a 'vintage feel'. I love anything vintage so couldn't wait to get started.

I knew I wanted to use the stamp 'Friendship cannot be measured....only treasured' by Crafty Individuals, then I thought tape measure so then the whole sewing theme evolved. The papers are Making Memories and Cosmo Cricket and the dress form  is a B Line Design stamp.

Thanks for taking the time to look and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Cardmakers Welcome !!!!

I know us British like to talk about the weather but here in the U.K. it changes from one extreme to the other,it was such a beautiful sunny morning but all of a sudden it went so dark and absoloutely chucked it down!!!! There was nothing for it but to go upstairs and do some crafting, poor Paige walked in from school looking like a drowned rat, wish I'd taken a photo!!!
Well that's all about the weather for now,I just want to remind everyone you still have time to enter October's challenge over at Scrapbookers Anonymous, all you need to do is use at least 3 different pattern papers by 3 different manufacturers and don't forget the idea of this challenge blog is to use up your old stash, then you won't feel so guilty about buying new stash !!!! Scrapbookers Anonymous isn't just for scrapbookers though, all you cardmakers out there can take part too and use some of your old stash up. You've got until 31st October to submit using Mr Linky and a chance to win some 6x6 Basic Grey paper pads.
I've made a card using 3 pattern papers and 3 different manufacturers so come on cardmakers,it will be great to see some cards in the mix as well.

The 3 patterned paper are from Making Memories,Websters Pages and S.E.I. which are all from my scrap box and all older ranges. I used a Martha Stewart border punch and a Melissa Frances heart, the stamped frame is from Waltzingmouse stamps and the sentiment is SU.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sketchy Thursday 10.14

It was Bromsgrove Crop last Thursday and all I took was a Scrapagoago kit,a couple of punches and this week's sketch from Sketchy Thursday.

Paige was lucky enough to visit China this year with the school and I've been saving this kit to scrap some of her photo's. I think the papers are quite oriental looking without been themed. The fabric flower was in the kit but I made the rest of the flowers with punches,I really do enjoy making my own flowers.

I hope you all had a good weekend, back soon.

Another Christmas Card Off The List !!!

This week's sketch over at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge says Christmas to me which I know it doesn't necessarily have to be but that's what I decided to go for,at least I'll have a few Christmas cards done before it gets really chaotic.

Here's my card:

I really like pink and red together so when I found this DP from October Aftrernoon in my stash,I went for those colours.I love this bauble stamp it reminds me of my Gran's christmas tree very 1950's and there's a punch to coordinate,it makes it so much easier than trying to cut around them.

Supplies
Papers- Very Merry October Afternoon
Stamps- Stampin' Up Contempo Christmas,Waltzingmouse Stamps Complements of the Season
Punch- Stampin' Up
Lace- Crafty Templates
Vintage Seam Binding- Debs Simple Treasures Etsy Shop

Card Patterns Sketch #84

I don't normally do two posts in a day but I really wanted to do this sketch from CardPatterns and it closes in a few hours. I love the simplicity of it but there is so much you could do with it.

I got my new goodies from Stampin' Up today so of course I wanted to use them straight away, everything on this card is from SU.

I love to layer stamped images which is what I've done here.I stamped the frame in Chocolate Chip and stamped onto some scrap paper to take some of the ink off then stamped onto the card, giving a much lighter colour. I then stamped the Christmas image in the same ink straight onto the frame giving a much deeper colour.

Supplies
Cardstock- Chocolate Chip,Red Riding Hood
Paper- Love Letters
Stamps- Notably Ornate,Welcome Christmas
Other- Very Vanilla satin ribbon,button,rhinestone

Lace & Doily Swap

Back in July Kirsty Vittetoe created a blog called City Crafter Party Blog where you can sign up to join in swaps. I couldn't take part in the first one as I was on holday so when the Lace & Doily Swap was announced I soon signed up. It is such a fun idea, you get to make friends with like minded people from all over the world and get a lovely surprise through the post.
My partner for the Lace & Doily Swap was Kirsty all the way from Las Vegas, how lovely to get the creator for my first swap!!! I got my parcel last Wednesday and when I opened it up I was thrilled with what I'd received and the beautiful handcrafted card which of course had got lace and a doily on it.

Look at what I got!!!

I was really touched by the personal touch that Kirsty had put into it,I had a handmade bookmark stamped and embossed with a doily stamp, handmade tags even the lace was wrapped around tags that had been stamped .I had lots of pretty doilys, punched borders (check out Kirsty's blog to see her wonderful creations with border punches) and even a wooden stamp.

Thank you so much Kirsty for my gorgeous parcel,I love it and for organising such a great event.

If  you're an active blogger why not join in the next swap,it really is fun putting together a craft parcel for your partner and receiving one back.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #17

My first purchase from Waltzingmouse Stamps arrived this morning,I ordered Vintage Labels 4 which are specially made for the Nestabilities Labels 4 dies. What a ingenious idea, they do quite a few stamp sets to coordinate with Nestie dies,so I know it won't be my last purchase from them.
When they fell through my letterbox this morning I wanted to use them straight away so thought what better way than using this week's sketch over at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.

Here's my card:

I stamped the background with SU Medallion stamp in white ink,I stamped the sentiment onto kraft card and because Waltzingmouse stamps are clear I could stamp the label around my sentiment to get it central, I then used my Nestie label 4 die to cut out the stamped label perfectly.

Supplies
Cardstock- SU Baja Breeze,Crumb Cake
Stamps- Waltzingmouse vintage label 4, SU Medallion,SU Occaisional Quotes
Inks- Baja Breeze,Crumb Cake,Chocolate Chip,Whisper White all SU
Other- vintage seam binding,decorative pins,button

Thanks for looking and taking the time to leave such wonderful comments, tomorrow I will post what I received from my Lace and Doily swap that I've just took part in.
