My Last Christmas Card.

I thought last week I'd made my last Christmas card of the year but yesterday my eldest daughter,Jodie, asked if I would make a card for her boyfriend. Week #36 over at City Crafter Challenge Blog is 'Vintage Christmas' so I made this one for her to give him and enter it in this week's challenge.

This is my favourite Tim Holtz patterned paper from the Holiday paper pad.I just added some glitter to his hat and a few embellishments.

When Paige,my youngest daughter saw it she asked if I'd make the same one for her boyfriend so that is definitely it now for this year.

I hope you all have a very Happy Christmas and a Happy,Healthy New Year.

Cupcake Creation Colour Challenge CR84FN8 & Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #28

I quite often pop over to Mona Pendleton's blog Cupcake's Creations as she is a great inspiration and I love her style. Every week Mona does a colour challenge and I always think I must give it go,so today I got to make my first card for this great colour challenge.
Here is this weeks inspiration photo,CR84FN8:

I also used sketch #28 from Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge .

I've seen a lot of tent cards lately,so I thought I'd have a go at making one. There's a great tutorial over at Splitcoaststampers on how to make a tent card. Here's my first go at one but I'm sure it won't be the last as I really enjoyed creating it. The papers are October Afternoon and Little Yellow Bicycle,I used Nesties to cut out the circle and scalloped frame.I stamped the Waltzingmouse stamp in SU Melon Mambo and the flower is made using Melon Mambo card stock.

Here's a side view:

Thanks for stopping by,I'm of to the local pub now for Carols Around The Piano,we always have a great time singing all those popular carols with other familys and a drop of mulled wine.

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas-part 1

Hope everybody had a great weekend,I had a fab time. Every year at Christmas my Mom and Dad take us all out to see Santa. This year we went to the Black Country Living Museum on a Santa Hunt. It is a lovely place to visit with everything set in the early 1900's,we had a tour guide and had to find clues to find Mr and Mrs Santa Claus,it was such good fun even for my girls who are the eldest grandchildren.

Writing a letter to Santa

Santa's Toy Workshop

Stirrng the Christmas pudding

Jodie and Paige with Santa
Typical High Street from the 1900's
Eating chips from the 1920's Fish & Chip Shop

This year I decided to do the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas,I love his products and ideas and have had real fun getting inky.I will use the tags for embellishments in a mini album with my Christmas photo's.
I didn't have the Rickety House die so I made my own with grunge paper and I embossed the lines using a score board.

Day 3

Back soon with some more tags. Thanks for taking the time to look and for all the kind comments you leave me,I really appreciate it.

Another Quick Christmas Card !

A quick post today, when you have to make so many cards at Christmas I do batches of quick and simple ones,so I get a little production line going. Here's another of my quick makes.

I diecut the Nestie label and stamped it with En Francais stamp in Crumb Cake Ink and inked the edge. I stamped part of the swirl from Baroque Motifs in Garden Green ink and then inked the bauble from Contempo Christmas in Real Red and punched out using the coordinating bauble punch.I hung the bauble from the swirl using 3d foam and added a bow, lastly I stamped Merry Christmas in Real Red. Everything I used for this card is from Stampin'Up except the Nestie.
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Baby,It's Cold Outside!!!

Can you see where I'm going with my blog title's,they're all Christmas song's,don't know how long I can carry it on for ! It really is cold in the U.K.at the moment,it looks so pretty though. This is the view from my bedroom window,it looks like a scene from Narnia.

It was our Christmas crop on Saturday and we all had a great time,we all had a cracker and prezzie on our table. We had turkey rolls for lunch,I supplied the Christmas tunes and Libby did a 12 Days of Christmas Just for Fun Challenge. There was a lot of laughter and Christmas cheer in the room!!! In the afternoon I did a festive class where I did a Christmas card and a tree decoration.

On a Fridays,Sue does something called Fridays Picks and she lists her favourite blogs, challenges etc. that she's seen through the week. Last week there was a link for an Oragami Christmas Tree which gave me the idea for this card. I didn't follow it exactly,I sort of made my own by using 5 different sized scalloped square Nesties and I didn't do all the folds but I'm quite pleased how it turned out.I added a bit of Christmas sparkle with glitter around the bottom of each segment and then a star to the top.

You could use the next project as a Christmas tree decoration,a tag or attach it to a card (which I will do for my nieces and nephews cards). I just used the largest square scalloped Nestie punched out the heart shape with the SU extra large heart punch and filled a heart shape Treat Cup with sweets, adhere another scalloped square to the back, covering up the Treat Cup. Everything I used for these two projects are Stampin'Up except the dotty embossing folder which is Cuttlebug.

I had a little production line going at the crop and got 20 of these little cards done.I stamped the base card with a SU Merry Christmas sentiment, cut out the shaped Nestie label, punched out the holly shape with a Martha Stewart punch and then attached gold glitter paper behind the holly shape using 3d foam, glued that to the base card and attached a bow,and there you have a quick and simple card for when you have to make so many.
I'd like to thank Sue and Lisa for kindly awarding me this lovely blog award,I'm a bit short on time at the moment but will try and answer questions and pass it on when I have a bit more time. Thanks again, ladies!!!

Have a good day,everyone.

' Blue Christmas'

The challenge this week over at the City Crafter Challenge Blog was choosen by Linda and is 'Blue Christmas',I love Elvis and I can't stop singing the song now,in fact I need to find Elvis Christmas album out for our Xmas crop on Saturday!!!
Here's my 'Blue Christmas' card.

I covered the front of the card with some Basic Grey blue paper and then cut out the centre of the card with the largest circle Nestie.I got some white copier paper and cut an insert to size and embossed it with a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder adding stardust Stickles, attach to the inside of the card.I cut out the snowflakes with Nesties and layed them up with 3d foam and added a rhinestone, then positioned it on the card so half of the snowflake overlaps the circle. Lastly I stamped the Waltzingmouse frame and sentiment in TH Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky Distress Ink,cut out with Nestie Labels #14 and attached to the insert using 3d foam.
Have a good weekend,I'm at our Xmas crop on Saturday and The Clothes Show on Sunday,so I've got a funpacked couple of days.

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year !

I'm sorry I haven't been about much,I just haven't had time for any crafting so have had nothing to show you. It's such a busy time of the year but I love it,I'm sat writing this in my warm, cosy house, drinking coffee and watching the snow flutter down,to me this is bliss!
We put our Christmas Tree up on Sunday and even though my girls have grown up they still get just as excited and can't wait for the last weekend of November, when all the decorations go up.

This little bird decoration is my most treasured,my Gran bought it for me one Christmas when we took her out for the day. She's no longer with us but every year it comes out and I think of all the wonderful times we shared.
Today is the 1st December so we've all opened our advent calenders this morning and eaten a yummy Thorntons chocolate before breakfast.

I really need to get cracking and make some Christmas cards today, will be back soon.
