Jingle Belles #9.....

This week's prompt over at Jingle Belles is 'Text Me' so for the 9th Christmas card of year you have to add some sort of text to your card. I'm really enjoying this challenge and getting quite a feeling of satisfaction knowing that all my Christmas cards will be finished so no rushing to get them all done at once.

All the supplies are from Stampin'Up except the holly embellishment.

Thanks for looking !!!

City Crafter Challenge Blog - Week #45....

This week Linda is the host at City Crafter Challenge Blog and she's chose a really scary challenge called 'Nothing to It', that means NO embellishments what so ever and all one dimensional, arrggh. After the intial shock I decided what I was going to do and I have to say I am really pleased with the card and quite enjoyed not having to think what embellishments to use. So thank you Linda for making me do something I wouldn't normally do.

The text and butterfly stamp are from the new Tim Holtz stamps called Papilion,I cut a mask with the butterflies, placed it in the centre of some cream card then in SU So Saffron ink stamped the text stamp over the mask leaving a blank space to stamp my butterflies in Baja Breeze ink. I pricked some holes down both sides and distressed the edges using Crumb Cake ink. The Baja Breeze dotty paper is from the SU paper stack also distressed with Crumb Cake. The sentiment and frame is SU Vintage Labels punched out using the oval and scalloped oval and flat taped onto the butterfly image.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Best Crafting Day Ever Part 2...

This is my second post of the day but I've finished the Tim Holtz project this afternoon so here is the finished article. It's one of his Configuration Boxes filled with so many trinkets,it even lights up,behind the acetate photo of the vintage gent is a battery operated tealight, some have the things we've used hasn't even been released over here in the U.K. yet !!!

After lunch we did a second workshop with Lin and Leandra and made another stunning project.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend !!!

Best Crafting Day Ever !!!!

Just a quick post today to show you some photo's from the Tim Holtz workshop. Rach came and picked me up on Thursday afternoon to drive down to Milton Keynes for an overnight stay in a hotel as we had an early start in the morning.
We got to the venue the next morning for 7 am,needless to say we were both very excited. We went to register and then headed to the shop for a bit of retail therapy, then it was time to do the class with the man himself.
The workshop was amazing!!!! He's teaching skills are fantastic and though we had to get a lot done in the time he got us from one stage to the next effortlessly, without feeling rushed or stressed and with lots of tips and tricks. I had the most fantastic day,Tim is one of the coolest, funniest guys I've met and he played Glee cd's throughout the class, my kinda man !!!!

Me and Tim, arrghh, I forgot my make-up and hair straightners, they're still on my dressing table at home.

Rach and Tim.

Tim teaching the 120 people in the workshop.

Rach hard at work.

Look at all these embellishments we got in our bag !!!

I've still got a few things to do to finish off, so will post the Configuration Box I did in the next few days.
Don't forget you've still got a couple of days to enter this months challenge over at Scrapbookers Anonymous and use up some of those X's you always have left in your alphabets, there's a fab prize up for grabs.
Have a great weekend.

CR84FN Colour Challenge

There is another fab colour combo over at CF84FN Colour Challenge, the colours are light pink, medium violet and light grey. I don't think I have ever used grey on a card before and rarely use violet so this really was a challenge for me,but I really liked the end result. As usual the design team made some gorgeous cards and were a great inspiration.

Here's my card.

The papers I used were K & Co and Anna Griffin, I stamped the Waltzingmouse Holiday Label #14 stamp in SU Basic Grey and added a Marianne diecut butterfly cut out in glitter card with a Prima flower.
I'm off down Milton Keynes tomorrow afternoon for a overnight stay ready to do a workshop with Tim Holtz first thing Friday morning, needless to say I am so excited !!!!!
Back soon to show you what creation I've done at Tim's workshop.

How exciting that this week Jingle Belles have teamed up with Sketchy Thursdays,so card #8 is using a sketch designed by Diana the founder of Sketchy Thursdays.

Here's my card using this fab sketch.

I used papers by October Afternoon, the half a rosette I made by using Tim Holtz Alterations Paper Rosette by Sizzix and the sentiment stamp is from Stampin'Up.

Tent Card Tutorial...

Hi there, hope you are all good and looking forward to the weekend, a few of you have said you would like a tutorial on how to make a tent card, so here goes:

Adhere the patterned paper to the front of your card,I actually stitched mine on,then choose the size Nestie you want to use to cut out the centre. I always use a square card because it fits perfectly through the Cuttlebug, you can use any size card but you will need an A4 diecut machine for anything larger. Open the card out flat and place the Nestie where you want the cut out to be.

Should look like this.

Next step is making the scalloped frame, using a co-ordinating paper, place the Nestie you've just used down then using next size up scallop Nestie, place that down leaving an even edge.

Attach the frame around the circle.

Cut a piece of card 4" wide by the length of the bottom of your card, next score down the card at 1",2" and 3".

Fold the score lines so it looks like this.

Attach double sided tape to both sides.

Next attach the one side of the zig zag to the inside of the card, then adhere patterned paper to cover the whole space and covering the join. There is patterned paper inside my card but just very subtle, lol.

Then attach the front of the card to the other side of the zig zag. Your card should now look like this. You are now ready to decorate the front.

Here's my card,I put a greeting inside the circle using Waltzing Mouse Vintage Label 4 with a Stampin'Up 'Happy Birthday' then cut out with Nestie Label 4. I added some seam binding and a Prima flower with a couple of heart pins, papers are Cosmo Cricket,Prima and Basic Grey. Obviously you can't open this card so you have to write on the back,if you want to stamp a sentiment on the back I would do it before you start the card because you won't have a flat surface once you start decorating it.

You can use any shape Nestie, here's one using the heart Nestie with a Magnolia stamp and Melissa Frances papers.

I haven't done many tutorials,so hope this is ok and easy to follow. I think I have included everything,if you any questions just get in touch.

Have a great weekend.

Spring is nearly here.....

The very talented Mona has another fabulous challenge over at CR84FN Colour Challenge with these gorgeous colours.

The colours remind me that spring is nearly here after the harsh winter we've all had and that makes me happy !!!

I decided to use a Magnolia stamp as I haven't used them for months and she is so cute,I coloured her in using promarkers. I decided to make a Tent card so Tilda had somewhere to sit,all the papers are from Prima Sweet Fairy 6x6 paper stack,I covered the front of the card with the green polkadot paper and cut a circle out the front using a Nestie then adhered a scallop circle frame around the cut out . I glued a piece of teal text paper inside the card so you can see it through the circle.Once I put the card together,I cut Tilda out and sat her on the front, added flowers and punched glittered leaves.
Tent cards are very quick and easy to make,if anybody wants me to do a tutorial on how to make one let me know and I will do one.

Have a great day and will be back soon.

I did want to keep up with my Christmas cards though so have done a quick, simple card as the challenge closes in a few hours. The prompt this week over at Jingle Belles is " No Red,She Said" so here's my card using no red.

I used Cosmo Cricket 'Mitten Weather' Mini Deck papers, I decided to go with lilac and a soft pastel green which is one of my favourite colours. The stamps are from Waltzing Mouse cut out with a Nestie and the snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch.

A Fun Day with my Scrap Buddies....

I had such a fab day yesterday,Libby and Rach came to my house for some scrapping,I think we talked for the first 1 1/2 hours, drinking coffee and eating cake but then we got scrapping. Rach was altering a cotton reel which was stunning when she'd finished,Libby and I were doing LO's. We both like using sketches and chose to use this week's sketch over at Sketchy Thursday.

 My LO:

I used December's Scrapagogo kit which is actually a Christmas kit but the papers work just as well with summer photo's,I added some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to the white cardstock.

The second sketch we used was from My Little Sketch Book.

I love using banners on cards and LO's at the moment so really enjoyed using this sketch, once again I used December's Scrapagogo kit and the banners are from Maya Road. Normally I would only use neutral coloured cardstock never anything this bright but Libby got me to use the turquoise and I have to say I really like it so maybe I might use colour a bit more often. Why not check out Libby's LO's using these sketches and how different they are to mine, even though we used the same sketch. Thanks girls for coming over,I have such a laugh when I'm with you both !!!!
It's Bromsgrove Crop on Saturday and I will be doing a card class and as it's February I thought I would do a Valentine card or it could be for a wedding anniversary. Here's a sneek peek:

Thanks for looking and leaving such lovely comments,it makes my day.

Scrapbookers Anonymous February Challenge

I can't believe we're into February already, what happened to January!!!!So a new month and that mean's a new challenge over at Scrapbookers Anonymous, this month is 'X Marks the Spot' so dig out all those X's you always have leftover and use them on your LO or card, X-actly,X-treme,X-citing,XOXO,can't wait to see what you all come up with and don't forget one lucky person wins a fab prize.

Here's my LO using up some X's.

I love this photo of Jodie and her boyfriend,Dan so using the X's for all those hugs and kisses it was the perfect photo to use. I painted the chipboard letters pink and then stamped them using SU En Francais background stamp, the DP were from my scrap box and then I stitched straight lines to make it look like a noughts and crosses board. The punched borders were some sent to me by the lovely Kirsty, the heart was punched using a SU punch.
So why not head over and have a look at what the other DT members have done using X's,just click here.
