My 10 Crafty Goals for 2014..........and WIP's.

Good morning, I'm back today with my Work in Progress for this week and also some crafting goals for 2014. First up, I will show you what I'm working on this week. I've got three projects on the go, which I'm rotating each time I pick up my knitting, so if I've worked on my Halele'a, next time I will do some more on my Rosebud Socks then my Aureus will get some love.

Week 2 is over on the Must Stash Podcast Group, who is running the Halele'a KAL and I've finished and blocked the back, this Helluva Skein by Must Stash Yarn is so soft once blocked.

We are into week 3, this week is "Frontal Attack" and I'm working on the Right Front, it's coming along nicely and so far I'm keeping up with the KAL, even though I'm working on other projects, this does get more of my time.

Next up is my Aureus cardigan, the pattern is in the Winter 2013 Pom Pom Quarterly magazine, I'm working on the back and love this cable and lace pattern. I'm using Rowan Felted Tweed which is a mix of wool/alpaca/viscose, this photo doesn't do the yarn justice, the little flecks are so pretty against this rich purple

Finally, I'm working on the second Rosebud Sock, I knit on this when I want to work on a smaller project, hopefully I should have these finished by next week.

I'm reading Merry Christmas Alex Cross by James Patterson, which my sister lent me, it's been a couple of years since I've read an Alex Cross thriller. I do enjoy these books, though the stories are all very similar, I also love the films, especially the new one called Alex Cross. I'm linking this to Ginny's Yarn Along.

I'm also linking to Tami's Work in Progress Wednesday.

Now for my 10 Crafty Goals for 2014............

1: Use up the yarn in my stash, I'm not buying any new yarn unless it's souvenir yarn, I always like to buy a nice skein of yarn, preferably local, if we are away for the weekend.

2: Teach myself Magic Loop

3: Get more into sewing.

4: Learn how to make a Patchwork quilt.

5: Finish my first adult size sweater.

6: Learn how to do a Fish Lip heel and Afterthought heel on my socks.

7: Spring clean my craft room.

8: Finish 12 pairs of socks!!!!! Not sure whether that will happen but will aim for that.

9: Make Christmas gifts throughout the year instead of last minute.

10: Design a very simple sock or cowl pattern, mmmmmmm, here's hoping, in my had I know what I want to do but lets see if I can actually put it onto paper.

Do you have any crafty goals, I'd love to hear about them, whether it's papercraft, sewing, knitting or any other craft.

Don't forget you still have a few hours left to enter my Swatch Like You Mean It Giveaway, you can find the post, here.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week.

All of your projects look beautiful and your goals are wonderful choices. I hope that you are able to complete them all. That would make for a wonderful year of crafting wouldn't it. I haven't entered your giveaway because I am not a knitter, so it would be wasted on me - better to go to someone else who would really appreciated it! xx

What a fun knit along. I couldn't take on a sweater right now but want to knit Halele this spring. You will love magic loop once you get it down. I want to learn the fish lips kiss heel too. I bought the "pattern" but haven't had a chance to play with it.

That purple for your sweater is gorgeous! I love it. I should probably set some crafty goals as well, but one I'm going to steal from you is learning the magic loop.

Happy New Year to you and yours Deb. I like your 10 crafty goals for 2014 - I've been thinking over a similar idea myself rather than making resolutions. I can recommend Magic Loop knitting - I love it. I've not heard of the heel types you mentioned, so look forward to seeing those. Best wishes, Pj x

I love all the colors you are using and how they're heathered. You have great goals listed. I haven't heard of the fish lip heel. I'll have to Google that. The book looks good. I haven't any of the Alex Cross series.

Your knits all look just lovely, Deb - and that's a good list too. I need to start with tidying my craft room - someone it seems to have become a wee bit of a dumping ground over the holidays!
Not liking our current weather, but isn't it just perfect for knitting? :-)

I stashed down last year (lost about 10,000 yards total, I think), and I want to keep doing that this year.

Oh! and I want to learn how to do colorwork!

Lots of lovely projects you've got there. I like your crafty goals, I came up with a few things I'd like to do this year but they're fairly vague. Looking forward to seeing your 12 pairs of socks :)

I wish I could get revved up again for some socks. I love warm ones and bulky yarn socks sound so good right now cuz it is COLD! Good luck with your sock goal. How long to knit a pair? Great colors. The guys in my house read Alex Cross but not so much me. Maybe I'll have to look this up!

Some great stuff there Deb, Ah I wish I had known I could have shown you a magic loop when we met for lunch! I had a flier for the sewing show at NEC in spring. Thinking I might go and maybe have a meet up there. Jo x

I love all the colors of the yarns you are working with. That is quite a list of goals for 2014. It has got me thinking about my own. I too would like to learn to make a Magic Loop.

Your work looks amazing my friend. I am happy to say I am on the final stretch of finishing my first pair of socks. The first one took me forever. But the second one went much faster. Your work sure does inspire me. Thanks
