I've just "opened" the third window of the
Knitvent 2014 it is a beautiful cable and ribbed cowl called
Crisp and Even which comes in three sizes.
I've cast on the small size using some Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk Aran that I had in my stash. I'm using a pretty icy green and lavender. The colours reminded me of Frozen which is rather apt as the cowl is called Crisp and Even. It's knitting up really fast as it's an heavier weight yarn and would make great last minute gifts.
I've also cast on another new project,
Miss Gelato Giraffe By
Kay Jones. Kay is best known for her
Bakery Bears, her patterns are very clear and concise with great photography. I've recently finished
Mr Bakery Bear so can highly recommend her patterns as every little detail is so well thought out.
The only other project I've been working in this week are the
Vanilla Latte socks, I'm using the very sort after Trailing Clouds self striping in Mind the Gap. I'm still knitting them consecutively, I find this better as I don't get second sock syndrome. I pick them up when I have a lot going on around me as the pattern is very simple and doesn't need any concentration.
I've started reading a new book called The Knitting Bee by De-Ann Black, it's a very sweet story about a local yarn shop owner, set in Edinburgh, perfect bedtime reading. It makes me wish I had a local yarn shop like this one, it sounds perfect.
I'm linking to Ginny's Yarn Along and Nicole's KCCO, check them out, there are always some great projects, my queue gets longer each week after seeing all the wonderful projects.
I just wanted to share these sweet little matinee jackets and bootees, knit for Caiden. They weren't knit by me though but my Aunty Ena who is over 80 years old. I think this is amazing and hope I'll be still knitting at that age. I imagine she used the same pattern for my grandson as she did for me when I was a baby.
Here is the little cutie wearing one of the cardigans, I do love this little man. Have a great week and hopefully will be back on Friday with some FO's.

I always feel inspired with I pop in and see what's on your needles!
That book sounds lovely too, going to go and look it up.
Your little man is just too cute and looks quite happy in his little ensemble!
Hugs xx

So many great WIPs! That Cashmere Merino yarn looks like it must be wonderful to knit with.
What lovely projects you have going on there. And now I really need to check out that book. A book about a local yarn shop owner? That sounds like the perfect read for a knitter!
Look at the little fella in his new cardigan. I love to make it to 80 knitting or not..or would, is life worth living if we are not knitting?? Jo x
Aloha,
Luv your projects. I had a question about the device you use to hold your needles. Do you have a link to it?
Mahalo.
All of your projects are beautiful. I love your colors. I especially love the grey and purple cowl, simply stunning.
Lovely projects! The cowl looks so nice and squishy! And I'm aiming for knitting till my 80's too ;-)
So much pretty knitting. I really like the colors of the cowl and those socks are fantastic. What an adorable little boy. I really hope I am still crafting at 80. Although my mom, at 87, recently finished an afghan for my son and is about to start one for my daughter.
Loving your knitting projects! So special that your Auntie has knitted for your Grandson. Best wishes, Pj x
It is always enjoyable to visit you. I feel immersed in knitting with you. Your grandson is handsome. Your aunt is amazing. That book looks good. I added many of this author's books to my TBR.
Beautiful projects. I so admire those of you who can make matching striped socks! Luckily, I also like mismatched socks.
I hope I can still knit at 80. That is a gorgeous set.
I love the cowl! It looks yummy.
I also love that adorable set your Aunt made! How precious! I hope I'm still knitting at 80, too. :)
This is one of those post when I while reading wishes "if only I could make that!" I love the look of that cowl. I must surely try that when my skill level allows it. Beautifully done!
