100 Wedding Invitations......finished!!!!

Hello, I've been busy this week finishing the wedding invitations for my friend's son, they wanted them by the end of the month but I wanted to finish them as soon as I could.

Emma the bride, bought the most gorgeous materials for me to work with and had some great ideas. We decided on this design, the hand beaded lace is absolutely stunning, which is obviously the star of the show. It's a very simple design but was actually very time consuming and it took me a lot longer than I expected, even with my daughter, Paige to help me.

I love how they turned out and Emma was thrilled, she came to collect them today, which I thought was very apt as it's Valentine's Day! When she saw them, she was very emotional and even shred a tear, I think it hit her that this was real and she was going to be a married woman in just a few months time. I was so pleased with her reaction, it was definitely worth all the work!

It's been a long time since I last made a card but a couple of weeks ago my friend Gina, invited the "Card Girls" around her house for a card class. Gina cut out the rocker card bases for us and gave us some ideas on how to decorate them, you can find Gina's card, here. I went with this very sweet Lily of the Valley stamp, I even used Pro Markers to colour in the image, I bet it's two years since I last used them. I really enjoyed our card making evening and hopefully we'll do it again soon.

Thanks for stopping by, have a fab weekend, my daughter, Jodie is coming for the weekend, I can't wait to see her, it's been over a month since I last saw her!

Mojo Monday..........18th Birthday Card.

Hello, did everyone have a good weekend? Are you all sitting down, today, I have spent the day making cards!!!!!! Yes, I know, you haven't seen a card on my blog since August, it is the first time in three months I've actually felt inspired to papercraft,

I went over to Mojo Monday for a sketch and hopefully to get my mojo back. It's my niece's 18th birthday on Wednesday and my sister asked if I could make a special card for her, how could I refuse.

When I saw the sketch, and saw the centre circle, my first thought was a rosette, like the age badges you can buy from card shops.
I die cut some circles and a Tim Holtz rosette and layered them up adding lots of die cut banners and ribbons. She loves photography so I added a little wooden camera and stamped "Smile" It's Your Day.

I made a pocket for the inside of the card by stitching a smaller piece of matching paper to the base paper and printed out some photo booth style photo's.

I printed a verse............

and made a matching box to put the card in.

I then went on to make another card for me to send, this one is very simple using a readymade frame, a doily, pearl swirls and some felt flowers.

Thanks for stopping by, have a good week.

Let's Get Trendy Now! 3-Day 2.........Sequins.

Good morning, another beautiful sunny day here in the U.K. and I'm off for afternoon tea later for my friend's birthday, it's a perfect day for it.

It's Day 2 of Let's Get Trendy Now! 3 and today they are focusing on sequins, I knew from yesterday's post it was going to be sequins. I think I must of been dreaming about sequins last night and what I could do with them. When I woke up this morning, I knew exactly what I was going to make, does anybody else dream about crafting or is it just me????

I'd recently bought some sequins from Poundland, as I'd been seeing quite a few people using them on their projects.. They were large bags, crammed full of all sizes, shapes and different shades of one colour. I bought the pink and blue but I might get the other colours next time I go.

It's my niece's birthday tomorrow, she will be 10, so the first one I made was with the pink sequins, this is another quick and easy card to make. I can spend hours on one card but today's two cards took me less than an hour as did my card, yesterday.

I die-cut two pieces of vellum using the Spellbinders Scalloped Square and stitched three sides together, I filled the little vellum bags with sequins and stitched the last edge. I glued the shaker bag onto some white card, it seemed to get lost on the patterned paper. I used Helmar 450 glue as it dries perfectly clear so you can't see it through the vellum.

I stitched around the patterned paper and adhered to the front of my card, then centred my bag of sequins, finally a punched out glitter butterfly and a sentiment. I love this stamp set from Inspired by Stamping, as it as lots of different words so you can make up your own sentiments.

Supplies
Stamps- Inspired by Stamping Little Phrases.
Paper- Prima, Vellum, Glitter Card.
Pretties- Sequins, Spellbinder Nestabilities, SU Rhinestones.

One last thing to share with you, my sister had her baby boy on Saturday. He was 12 days late but once he decided it was time to get out, he'd arrived within one and half hours, weighing 9lb 8oz.

He was just a few hours old here, they have named him Adam.

I was away when he was born so this was my first cuddle, he is 36 hours old in this photo, he's a right little bruiser and so adorable. He was been passed around like a parcel but it really didn't seem to bother him, he just kept opening one eye to see who'd got him, then fell asleep again, bless. Needless to say, I'm a very proud Aunty!!!!!

Thanks for taking the time to look, back soon.

Let's Get Trendy Now! 3- Day 1.........Neon.

Hello, my friends, today is the first day of Let's Get Trendy Now! 3 if you haven't heard about it yet, you must check it out!!!! There are some fabulous designers, who will be sharing five new trends with us. Day 1 is NEON. Well, I love challenges, as you know and this is a bit of a challenge.

Don't get me wrong, I love neon colours, I love al colours but I predominately work with pastels and most of my papers show that.

I used the sketch that they provided for inspiration, it is for a LO but I thought it would work well for a card too.

After searching through my stash, I found some papers that I thought would work.

A very quick and simple card, I punched out some hearts and stitched them through the centre and adhered to some neon pink card. I also stitched around the white card that the hearts are stitched on just to give a bit more depth. I then stamped "Happy Birthday" and curved it for a 3D effect.

Supplies
Papers- Cosmo Cricket De Lovely, Basic Grey Gypsy.
Stamps- Inspired by Stamping Big Wishes.
Other- SU Heart Punch, SU cardstock.

Thank you for stopping by, have a great week.

IBSIC #14.......A Sketch.

Hello, how is your week going, not long to the weekend again!!! It's Midsummer's Day today, the longest day of the year and here in the U.K.our summer hasn't even started !!!
I'm going to Brockencote Hall Food Festival on Saturday to sample the delights of the local produce, live entertainment and cookery demonstrations, all set in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, it would be nice if the sun could show itself.
It's week #14 of  Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge and Joanna has designed this great sketch.

I've loved working with this sketch, especially doing the shaped top instead of my usual straight lines. I achieved the fancy edge with the scalloped circle Spellbinder and sliding the paper through the centre of the die, with the Spellbinder face down so just the top edge of the paper is on the cutting edge (the rest should be cutting the bottom plate). I hope that makes sense, if it doesn't let me know and I will do a photo tutorial.  I stamped the sentiment in SU Peach Parfait, it's a perfect colour match to the butterfly.
Have you noticed there's no stitching on this card, my sewing machine is playing up and the top thread keeps wrapping around the bobbin, if anybody could tell me why this has suddenly started happening, I'd really appreciate it.

Supplies
Stamps- Fancy Labels 4Birthday Greetings.
Papers- Prima Songbird.
Tools- Spellbinder scalloped circle, TH rosette, Sizzix butterfly.
Pretties- SU lace, button, twine, MF pearls, SU rhinestone, tulle.

I hope you'll join us this week, we love looking at your creations.
Happy Stamping
