Day 3 - Making Layers

Day 3 of  Create Free is about making mini collages with lots of layers, each collage will have a word or mini title, there are 7 photo's so each collage will also have a number 1 - 7.

You are shown how to do three of the collages then you  do the last one yourself which I did number 4 on my own. I hadn't got the number cards that was used so I made my own,I thought I'd got the acetate frames and spent an hour looking for them to no avail,so decided to make my own by stamping on acetate using Staz-On ink,I think they turned out really well. Guess what I found the frames after when I was tidying up,I knew I had some!!!!
I am enjoying this workshop so much and creating things I would never have thought of doing myself. I'm trying to get the classes done every day because I never finish mini books normally,so if I keep on top of it I might actually do a complete album. I'm busy the next two days though so will probably have to catch up at Bromsgrove Crop on Saturday.
It is World Card Making Day on Saturday so I will be doing a card class at the crop,I've been asked by a few people for a men's card so that's what I've done!!! I'll be using some of the new papers from the new SU catalogue which is released on Friday.

Here's a sneek peek:

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Create Free Day 1 & 2

Yesterday was the start of the 10 day minibook workshop over at Crafty Templates  and Day 1 is Creating With Texture. We are shown how to make the front and back covers using fabric and anything else you wanted to create texture,I love how my flower embellishment turned out and will definitely be making some more.I started off with a plain white Prima flower and stamped it with my favourite script stamp from SU,I added a TH watch face and a Websters Page Sparkler. The bottom layers are velour, printed canvas and tulle.I've choosen to work landscape as all my photo's are landscape.I used postcards instead of bingo cards to make the covers as I've used some of my favourite photo's from our Paris trip,so the title is "Carte Postale From Paris". I think the back cover needs a bit more black on it to match the front, what do you think?

Day 2 is Getting Down The Basics so today is about consructing the basic inside pages of the book adding the photo's and patterned papers. The inside pages are 6x4 so I decided to use the Prima Annalee 6x6 paper pad so it was nice and easy to trim to size and the patterns are smaller so is good for a minibook.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #16

This week over at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge is another great inspirational sketch.

I stamped the Prima girl image with SU Chocolate Chip then watercoloured her dress with the same ink .I used Websters Pages DP from my scrapbox and distressed all the edges with TH Antique Linen,I then stamped the one DP strip with a SU script stamp. The seam binding is 7Gypsies and was baby blue so I distressed that with Antique Linen.

The Create Free 10 Day Minibook Workshop started today,Day 1 showed you how to make and decorate the front and back cover, which I am just finishing off so will post tomorrow.

Thanks for looking

"Create Free" 10 Day Minibook Workshop

Autumn is here in the U.K.,I'm looking out my bedroom window on this Sunday morning, the leaves are turning yellow and there's a definite chill in the air.I love the summer but I do like Autumn as well and what better way to spend the evening scrapping when it's dark and chilly outside. That's what myself, Libby, Lisa and Rach are going to be doing,we've decided to have a cyber crop and join in the Create Free Minibook Workshop. This is a free 10 day mini workshop where each day a new class will be posted with new techniques and inspiration. The title of the mini book is "Favourite Photo's Of....",here's the sneek peek they have shown.

The classes start tomorrow,Monday 27th Septmber, there's a supply list here so you know what you'll need over the next 10 days.I can't wait to see how our minibook's turn out as we all have very different styles of scrapping.Hopefully I will be able to do the classes on the day they're posted and will post what I've done each day,let me know if your taking part as I'd love to see your creations too!!!

Have a good Sunday!

The Craft Garden.

While blog hopping the other day I came across across a shop called The Craft Garden,it sells mainly Prima which I love. What makes this shop a little bit different is you don't have to buy the full tube of flowers or the whole 6 x 6 paper pad,you can just buy small amounts of flowers starting from 50p or paper and flower combo's and the U.K. p&p is only 90p,What a great idea!!!
While I was browsing the shop,I saw on the sidebar they run a monthly challenge blog,as you can probably guess I love challenges so hopped on over. This month's challenge at The Craft Garden Challenge Blog is to use bunting, which is another one of my favourite things at the moment,(I have so many!!!),so using my July Scrapagoago kit, which is full if bunting,I did this LO.

I took inspiration from this sketch over at Sketch Inspiration.

I'm off to place an order now,I've just seen a gorgeous Prima stamp I like.

Thanks for stopping by.

CCCB week #23- a sketch challenge

I love sketches and Linda from  My Happy Place is hostess this week over at the City Crafter Challenge Blog and has choose to do a sketch, yippee!!!!

What a great sketch to work with and I'll be using it again, for sure.

All the patterned paper is from my scrap box which I distressed and sewed,I'm not sure whether you can see but the strip of paper at the bottom of the card,I embossed lines with my scoreboard.I made the little lace flower in anticipation of the Lace and Doily Swap over at City Crafter Party Blog, and added it to a paper rosette made with the new Tim Holtz die.

My First Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

Every week I take a look at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge blog and look at all the wonderful creations the DT come up with but have never taken part myself. This week I decided to use the sketch to make my sister and brother-in-law a congratulations card for their new baby girl.
Here's sketch #15

Here's my card:

The image was a free vintage image from the internet,I sewed  lace to some SU patterned paper,I added a Prima swirl and a couple of pins to the bow.Lastly I stamped the 'Small Wonder' sentiment which is from SU.
I would just like to share some photo's of my craft room's mini make over that I did with my husband's help over the weekend. I've been having a huge tidy up of my craft room over the last couple of weeks,I'd bought some wire shelves and a few other bits, also in the garage I'd got a beautiful shabby chic bookcase that I couldn't part with when we had the lounge redecorated.Yesterday,Mick took down the wardrobe, which I used as a dumping ground, brought the bookcase up and put the shelves up and I spent the day arranging all my stash.I love how it looks now,I think I might have to spend even more time in there now.

Thanks for taking the time to look!

I Didn't Expect This!!!

The postman delivered a parcel today and what a lovely surprise when I took it out the box,I had a package wrapped in pink tissue paper tied with a ribbon and inside was a beautifully decorated box (made from scratch) with a note book inside and a Thank You card,it was from the lovely, talented Ros.

When I had a sort out of my craft stuff I sent Ros some things for her craft group she runs for special need adults,I certainly didn't expect this beautiful gift so thank you so much,Ros,I love it.

CCCB week#22 and I'm an Aunty Again!!!

It was Bromsgrove Crop on Thursday, and was a great evening  as usual. I love going to catch up with everyone, have a chat and of course do some scrapping, they are such a lovely group of ladies. I got one LO finished and I started  another one which I will show you in the next day or so.
The LO I finished  is suitable to be entered into this week's challenge over at City Crafter Challenge Blog which is called Tree of Books,so you can use an image of a tree or anything to do with books.
Here's the photo that Kirsty gave us for inspiration.

While I was blog hopping I found a fab sketch site called My Little Sketch Blook, Liz designs some great sketches and the DT are a great inspiration. Here's the sketch I used for my LO.

Here's the LO:

The LO is using the new September Scrapagogo kit which I absoloutely love, the papers and all the different textures are just gorgeous especially the corragated alpha's.
I've gone tree mad this week,it's Libby's birthday on Sunday so I made her a card, which she has already opened so I can show you. I made this card before this week's challenge but by sheer coincidence it fits the requirements.

All the materials for this card is Stampin' Up.

On Monday's post I said my sister was heavily pregnant, well while I was at the crop on Thursday, I had a phone call off my Mom to say  my sister had just given birth to a healthy baby girl named Olivia weighing 8lb 12oz.

9.9 Sketchy Thursdays

Here's this week's sketch challenge over at Sketchy Thursdays.

I did this LO using May's Scrapagogo kit,I used  Nestabilities to make the flowers and the spiral edge note book punch is from Stampin' Up.The photo's are of my girls on the park at Legoland in 1996.
I'm trying to scrap some of my older photo's because I do tend to print off  my recent ones and I've got so many gorgeous photo's off my children when they we're little. My friend Rae said something on her blog a couple of days ago about scrapbooking is to preserve your memories and that is so true,so even though some of my photo's aren't the best quality (pre-digital) I still must scrap those precious memories.
Just one last thing, I ordered the Tim Holtz Alterations Paper Rosette yesterday from LB Crafts and it came this morning,it is fab!!!
This is what it looks like:

and this is what I've done with it:

and punched out with the SU Tag punch.
I am soooo excited!!!Rach has just rung me to say we've got tickets to do a workshop with Tim Holtz in February. I think I might have burst her hear drums how loud I screamed with excitment!!!

Dust Off Your Templates !!!

I normally go shopping with my Mom and sister on a Monday but my sister is heavily pregant (due on Thursday) and had to go for a scan to check on things,so I decided to do some scrapping instead. Lea and her friend Theresa have got together and started a new challenge blog called Scrapbookers Anonymous,it's a challenge blog with a difference, they encourage you to use things you haven't used for a while, what a great idea!.The first challenge is to dust off those templates and use them on your project,I'm sure if your not a scrapbooker you can still take part with a card,so please take a look and support them with their very first challenge.
Here's my entry.

I used the In Stitchz by Bazzill templates for the square and circle,I sewed around the circle but left the square with just the pin holes. The papers are The Girls Paperie and October Afternoon,I splattered some blue, red and yellow TA Glimmer Mist over the white cardstock.I can't believe it,I haven't used flowers!!!
My friend Rach has tried to get us tickets tonight for a Tim Holtz class in February at LB Crafts we won't know for a couple of days whether we are successful or not so keep your fingers crossed for us.I will be so excited if we do get to go !!!

Thank you for leaving all your lovely comments,I appreciate every one.

Sketchabilities #25

I printed these photo's of me,my husband and our girls to use at  Bromsgrove Crop but didn't end up using them on the day. While I was blog hopping the other day I came across a sketch blog called Sketchabilities, they have got some amazing sketches and decided to use their most recent sketch which was perfect for the photo's.
I only took my point and shoot camara on holiday so the photo's aren't very good quality but I love them as we don't have many photo's of us altogether.

The yellow background paper was from a Scrapagogo kit and the all the other papers are Prima.I used  Nestabilities to cut out the circle and label shapes. All the flowers are Prima, the large flower tucked under the photo's was sprayed with TA Cotton Candy Chalkboard and then stamped with SU French Filligree background stamp.
I'd just like to share my day out I had yesterday at the Ludlow Food Festival which is held in the castle grounds.I had such a good day with family and friends, the weather held out for us and there was plenty of food, drink and laughter. We go every year and it just gets bigger and better every year.
